Many Firsts
Working with Girl Scouts of NYPENN was a job filled with many firsts.
It was here I got to see my teaching philosophy and pedagogy fully in action. Everything that happened in the Arts & Crafts pavilion was under my watch.
- First overnight camp experience - sleeping in a platform tent.
- First time being part of the Girl Scouts.
- First opportunity outside of school to grow as a teacher and be in an administrative position.
It was here I got to see my teaching philosophy and pedagogy fully in action. Everything that happened in the Arts & Crafts pavilion was under my watch.
- I created an organization system for all counselors and campers to follow - giving the campers more independence.
- I developed a program that followed the Girl Scouts ideal of making campers their own leaders, by focusing on choice.
- I provided feedback to counselors who worked in my area about their performances.
